This is my blog, A Green and Rosie Life, which is all about helping you live life that bit greener without having to build an off-grid log cabin in the woods or knit your own nettle fibre undies! It's about helping you make simple changes that together will make a big difference to our beautiful world and make it a better place for our children.

My Sunday Photo - 20th March 2106
As some-one who grows fruit and vegetables, keeps animals and enjoys foraging I hope that with each meal I put on the table, there is always something on our plates that I have either grown, reared or foraged. I almost failed with this massive full English breakfast that Simon requested before he and the boys headed up to Paris to watch England v France in the final of the Six Nations Rugby. Thank goodness the hens are laying well and that egg was one of ours!
PS - and England won meaning they took the 6 Nations title and The Grand Slam!

So impressed that you're a forager too; that's something I've been reading a lot about recently. Your plate of food does look good!

I love free foraged food - the wild garlic is good at the moment and I reckon we'll be having nettle soup soon.
DeleteA home from home feast
ReplyDeleteIt certainly was a feast.
DeleteNow that's what I call a hearty breakfast - and presumably Simon will be returning from Paris delighted with the result!
ReplyDeleteOh yes - it was close wasn't it and luckily the boys are spared major teasing at school on Monday!
DeleteAh yes, health food ahead of the Six Nations!
ReplyDeleteLOL - and what a result :)
DeleteMMm that looks so delicious, I could just eat that, nothing like a virtual breakfast x
ReplyDeleteIt was very tasty and kept me full all day.
DeleteYou didn't mention last night that your boys were there! (And by the way that plate's got the wrong name...it ain't lasagne!!!)
ReplyDeleteSorry, I thought I did but then my mind was a bit busy elsewhere! That's a good old Woolworth's plate, I'll have you know, that has also seen a good few lasagnes in its time :)
DeleteThat's brilliant to be able to use your own food in meals. I must try to get more from my parents' allotment this summer!
ReplyDeleteAnd allotment food is just the best!
DeleteThat looks like a good breakfast, fancy one right now
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking up
Nothing like that this morning though - just boiled eggs ... from our own hens of course.
DeleteLooks like a hearty breakfast to me - and eggs from home are always the best :) Loving the new look! #MySundayPhoto
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Vicky - it took a bit of getting ready on time and there are still many things I want to change.
DeleteNow that looks lush!
ReplyDeleteIt's great to use your own foods in meals :) #MySundayPhoto
We did better with tonight's dinner - the lamb was ours as were the beans.
DeleteThat breakfast looks amazing! I could just eat that now :) x
ReplyDeleteNone left I'm afraid!
DeleteThat looks so yummy! I have yet to finish a full english breakfast. Theres just so much on the plate to eat! But I think when you are a growing boy you can finish this in one go.

I think we all managed to finish ours! Mind you it is scary how much the boys eat.
DeleteHaven't had one for ages! Looks so delicious.
ReplyDeleteIt was good although we had a bit of a baked beans panic and had to get some from a neighbour. Our supplies are down to zero awaiting my next trip back to the UK.
DeleteWow that certainly must have set them off feeling fine.
ReplyDeleteI've got a wish that I have my own chickens one day soon. I think it's fabulous to be able to go and collect your own eggs.
Your boys must have returned home happy bunny's with that result too. All in all I'd say it was a good day for them.
They were very pleased although very tired as they did not get home until 4am.
DeleteThat looks amazing. I am really partial to a nice fry up, or a big breakfast on a weekend. I would love to be able to get eggs from our own chickens, I've heard they taste so much better! x
ReplyDeleteAl our guests in the gite say that about our eggs!
DeleteAh I love this - it looks amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteIt was yummy!
DeleteOh that looks lovely, I could eat that right now X #pointshoot
