Animal Tales - 12

Posted by Rosie

Welcome to Animal Tales, the blog linky that brings together all sorts of animal blog posts from all over the world.  It runs from Tuesday morning thought to Friday night and showcases a wide range of animal related posts.

This week Harry has bit farewell to his "lampshade" and is MUCH happier for that.  Saari's diet has continued with just one minor lapse when Simon came in to find her scoffing a couple of fairy cakes that had been left on the table.  However a weight-in showed she was down from 34.1kg to 33.6kg in just under a week.  Well done Saari.

In other news we have a duck sitting on a clutch of 8 eggs. Hettie, one of our Muscovy ducks, will now have to sit for 35 days so if all goes well we could have ducklings by the 20th March.  This is her second time sitting and she only just made it last time, getting off the eggs rather more than I was happy with towards the end.  Then she hatched 5 so here's hoping she does better this year.

There was another great range of Animal Tales who linked up last week including 2 posts from trips to the same farm.  Kidding Herself and Me and My Shadow both visited Church Farm in Hertfordshire and ended up side by side in the linky!  Chickenruby joined and introduced us to Bob and Pushkins, 2 very well travelled pets who are currently living in Dubai.

Feel free to come and add your animal related posts to the linky below.  The posts can be old or new and as varied as the animals who we share our world with.  There's a Pinterest Board with pictures from all the linked blogs which you can see here and if you tweet with the hashtag #AnimalTales I'll retweet you.  Just give me a nudge if I appear to have forgotten you.

Full details of the linky can be found here and once again can I remind people to comment on a few of the others who link up.  It's only polite and keeps the thing working!

  1. I'm waiting for ducklings to appear soon in a pond nearby so I can take my kids to see them. There is something awfully cute about the little yellow fuzz balls.

  3. I can just imagine Harry's glee at getting the collar off! Poor Saari still bravely enduring her diet and showing so much restraint only taking one little opportunity for fairy cakes. I do hope your duck hatches some lovely babies because I would love to see muscovy ducklings!
