    1. LOL - not me and not building. The local dam is being demolished with some seriously big machinery involved!

  3. Now that's an interesting shot! Is it a dam being built or repaired?

    1. Our local reservoir became silted up and of no use as a source of water so it has been drained and the dam is being demolished with some VERY big diggers being used :)

    1. Dam demolition in the valley a few kilometres away from us.

  6. I can't really imagine what that digger's doing but I recognise the horrible bit on the end that makes the worst noise, breaking rocks , so I reckon whatever it's doing, it's noisy.

    1. It is demolishing the dam and the boys and I sneaked into the work site to get these photos on Saturday when no-one was working. Yes, I imagine it is very noisy when it is hammering away. Luckily we live out of earshot.

    1. No, although Simon would absolutely LOVE to drive a digger like that. Dam demolition might well be on his bucket list ;)

    1. LOL - it' hard to stop there when they are working as there are so many lorries now, full of mud and rubble, coming in and out of the site.

  11. Will there be more water once it's demolished Rosie? I know it sounds like a mad question as my brain is saying of course there will!!!

I read your comment about sneaking in - tut tut :)

    1. It will be reverted back to valley bottom with a river running through it. They have diverted the river, temporarily, to allow the demolition work and we presume it will be reinstated once they are finished. The reservoir was too silted to be functional and no longer providing the drinking water it was built to give.
