Braised red cabbage, Angela - a combination of red cabbage, apple, onion, red wine vinegar and brown sugar all baked slowly in the oven. Delicious!

DeleteWell, it looks good to me!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Brooke, it's very tasty and I've frozen loads for future meals.
DeleteNow that's an interesting pairing of flavours, apple and cabbage. I love how you got all those colours repeating so well; the purple of the cabbage and the onion, the apple green of the bench and the apples. A shot full of interesting textures.
ReplyDeleteThe fuits of the land! Love this shot, assume you've just harvested this little lot? #MySundayPhoto
ReplyDeleteI have indeed, John. The red cabbages have been fabulous this year. I pulled a couple of red onions early, just for this recipe and the apples are windfalls from my Bramley which is heavy with fruit. We will not starve this winter!
DeleteMm I love red cabbage, and such an interesting item to photograph. I can smell it cooking xx
ReplyDeleteIt's a favourite of mine too and I have frozen loads of if braised. I might make the last one into some coleslaw.
DeleteLooks like you're making something rather autumnal there. Hope it was delicious!
ReplyDeleteBraised red cabbage, Sarah, and yes, it is more an autumn/winter dish so once cooked this lot headed for the freezer. It goes really well with pork dishes.
DeleteLove braised cabbage. We often wonder why we only have it at Christmas though!
ReplyDeleteOh delicious!! Pickled red cabbage and apple is delicious :-)
