Wow Rosie, that's amazing - thanks for sharing. I am intrigued about what the other side of the horse looks like ;-)
ReplyDeleteI don't know - Simon took the photo and didn't look. It's at the ferry port so I'll look next time I am there.
DeleteNow that's original!
ReplyDeleteThere are several dotted around Calvados.
DeleteLovely idea. What's the significance of the horse?
ReplyDeleteThere are several around the area, as well as other sculptures and we assume they are in celebration of the World Equestrian Games that took place here in September. We intend to go on a search of others soon!
DeleteThat's very cool. Are there lots of them around, like the Bristol Gromits from last year, or just this one?
ReplyDeleteWe know of least least 3 and suspect there are more. We need to investigate!
DeleteThat is so funny; it's incredible how the "keep calm" stuff pops up everywhere now. Even in Normandy!
ReplyDeleteThat was my first thought, Phoebe! I love the way though that they have changed the crown for the 2 lions of Normandy.
DeleteThat's fantastic! Not a big fan of the 'keep calm' thing, but I like this x
ReplyDeleteIt made me chuckle, especially as they changed the crown to the 2 lions of Normandy!
DeleteSimply love this :)
ReplyDeleteI don't make a habit of linking to old posts but this gave me such a vivid flashback to more than 3 years ago!...http://lisas-life.com/2011/07/23/saturday-newmarket.html
Gosh - so similar to the ones in Newmarket. I have yet to find out how many there are here - I know of at least 3.
DeleteWow that is awesome, love how different it is
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking up
Thank you - and thank you for running the Sunday Photo linky.
DeleteLovely looking horse, very intriguing
ReplyDeleteOne of at least 3 we know of ...
DeleteOh wow! That is awesome! Not something you see every day x
ReplyDeleteIt is rather good isn't it?
DeleteLove this horse ~ so creative and wonderful shot! (over from Silent Sunday)
ReplyDeleteartmusedog and carol (A Creative Harbor)
Thank yo, Carol.
DeleteThat is gorgeous. I love how they have got the perfect shape of the horse (looks like an Arab to me). #silentsunday
ReplyDeleteIt looks so serene to me too - not like some of the horses I have known in my time!
DeleteLove this! It's really similar to the Elephants that have been touring the UK #mysundayphoto
ReplyDeleteI did not know about the elephants but have heard of various painted sculptures like this in different towns. Didn't it start with The Olympics?
Deleteoh i am loving this!! x
ReplyDeleteIt's good isn't it and there are others around too.
DeleteI love that - how fabulous! #silentsunday
ReplyDeleteIt's at the ferry port so a great way to welcome people to Normandy.
DeleteA beautiful photo.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteWow thats a really colourful horse, especially the face!
ReplyDeleteThat's so creative!
ReplyDeleteWonderful! Never been into the Normandy port. How wonderful! Thanks for popping by Millie on the Fosse! x
