Week 8 - Green Quotes
A picture can tell a thousand words but sometimes a simple quote can say much more than just the few words it contains - here are 7 of my all time favourites:
1.
"We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children." ~ Native American Proverb
2.
"We are living on this planet as if we had another one to go to." ~ Terri Swearingen
3.
"A nation that destroys its soils destroys itself. Forests are the lungs of our land, purifying the air and giving fresh strength to our people." ~ Franklin D. Roosevelt
4.
"It is our collective and individual responsibility to preserve and tend to the environment in which we all live.” ~ Dalai Lama XIV
5.
"Take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints, kill nothing but time." ~ Unknown
6.
"Our challenge isn’t so much to teach children about the natural world but to find ways to nurture and sustain the instinctive connections they already carry.” ~ Terry Krautwurst
7.
“Earth provides enough to satisfy every man's needs, but not every man's greed.” ~ Mahatma Gandhi
I actually found it very difficult to just add 7 quotes here and may well return to this idea at a later date. In the meantime do you have any favourite environmental, green or nature quotes?
These are very powerful! The second one reminds me of "There is no planet B". Thanks for sharing these on the #wastelesswednesday blog hop!
