Animal Tales - 19

Posted by Rosie

Welcome to Animal Tales, the blog linky that brings together all sorts of animal blog posts from all over the world.  It runs from Tuesday morning thought to Friday night and showcases a wide range of animal related posts.

Eco-Gites of Lenault Update

We have sheep.  Well we have a ewe and lamb, with more due in a couple of weeks.  At the moment there is some dispute over names.  I want to call the ewe Mabel and her son, Monty where-as Simon wants to call them Korma Katie and Vindaloo Vinny.  Perhaps you could decide for us!

Our new sheep

On Sunday I posted a picture Firkin's eyes.

Several people commented on how they through it was an eerie picture which didn't even enter my mind, possibly because I know what a complete softie Firkin is. What do you think?  Is it eerie or what word would use use to describe these particular cat's eyes?

Firkin's eyes

A big thank you to everyone who joined in to Animal Tales last week.  Dogs still, just, got the most posts with cats very close on their heels.  However I may be a bit biased when I say the post that most caught my attention was Elaine's post on Entertaining Elliot because it contained PIGLETS!

So over to you now.  Feel free to come and add your animal related posts to the linky below.  The posts can be old or new and as varied as the animals who we share our world with.  There's a Pinterest Board with pictures from all the linked blogs which you can see here and if you tweet with the hashtag #AnimalTales I'll retweet you.  Just give me a nudge if I appear to have forgotten you.

Full details of the linky can be found here but can I remind people of a couple of the "rules":

  • Please can you comment on at least 2 other blogs linked up - that is, after all the whole purpose of joining a linky to find and comment on more blogs and hopefully drive traffic back to your blog.
  • Please can you include my badge (preferably) or a link back to this blog.
  • Can I remind people not to add sponsored posts or reviews.  Eco-Gites of Lenault has no advertising on it and I am not comfortable promoting products or companies I know nothing about.

  1. Delighted you have begun lambing and it looks like all went well too.

    1. We don't actually lamb any more after our ram got a bit too difficult to handle - so we buy in ewes and lambs in the spring.

  2. I wanted to come up with some great comment about how just 'snorted' with laughter at the piglets, but my creativity has failed me and I've still managed to get in the bad pun :)

We are giggling here over Korma Katie and Vindaloo Vinny but have nothing constructive to add.

And as to the photo? I think's it Firkin' reflective and a little bit cool =D

Okay enough with the bad puns for one day.

  3. Definitely Mabel & Monty...NO reference to curries!!!

  4. Depends if the lambs are going to market or into your own freezer. If to market then Mabel and Monty, in your own freezer just vindaloo and korma will be fine

  5. Actually, Firkin makes me think of the children's story I wrote & published in 2010 called The Tale of Ole Green Eyes. I remember looking for images to capture the imagination of others when I found a black panther with glowing green eyes. Your kitty isn't eerie, but that panther sure was scary looking and that's what I wanted. :D Thank you for the invite to link up to your little meme. I'll be sure to snag your button & place it on my blog. Is this meme done typically on Tuesdays? Anywho, it was excellent meeting you!

  7. I think I would be going with Mabel and Monty! Vinny and Katie may work if you drop the curry references!
