If you are hiring in Caen please do make sure if you are speaking to some-one on the phone that they know you want your car from Caen not Cannes. Friends fell into this trap and arrived at Caen only to find the person had misunderstood them and their car was down on the south coast at Cannes. If in doubt spell Caen to them. Apparently it is a common problem.
I do hope this helps when planning your journey to Normandy and please do let me know if I have missed out any methods to get to us.
