  1. Exotic fleurs? Is exotic a French word? It sounds like when I was trying to teach my daughter French the other day and she was just sticking English words in.

    1. No it isn't - the French word is exotique and should read "Fleurs Exotiques" but the French love pinching English words and using them like this .. as well as all those words in everyday language such as week-end. L'Acadamie Français try to stop such Anglicising of the language but they are possibly fighting a losing battle!

    1. Giving flowers in very big in France so most towns have at least one and often more flower sellers and their displays are always so good.

  7. Aah, the green! And I love the use of the word 'exotic'. You could imagine a shop named exactly this, back here in Britain!

    1. L'Acadamie Français hates the French doing it but I think they are fighting a losing battle. And we English speakers love using French names - Pret a manger etc
