I MUST resist, I MUST resist

Posted by Rosie

Ben and I made raisin flapjacks today which will mature in the tin until Tuesday when Ben's friend is coming over to play. His mum loves English foods and so far I have introduced her to the joys of marmite sandwiches, sponge buns, oatmeal biscuits and given her a jar of horseradish sauce. I hope she likes the flapjacks and more importantly I hope they make it to Tuesday - I mean would she really notice if there was one less?!

And look what the sun brought out today.

  4. Well I made it 'til lunchtime today then I had half of one - purely on the grounds of quality control of course. One wouldn't want to serve flapjacks to guests that were nothing short of the best, would one? And Ben's friend and his Mum loved them - and the raspberry jelly I made.

  5. Quality control on one's baking is essential i think. Have you introduced your French friends to the incomparable joys of Cabury's chocolate and (I'm Northern Irish) Champ with HP sauce; an absolute must, though you may have guests constantly!!! Lovely blog, will add a link to keep up. The idea of staying at your Gite is wonderful!

  6. Carrie - thank you. Knowing people actually want to stay in the Gites gives us a great boost. (and I've just eaten another flapjack - oops!)

  7. Hi you Hills. Was at PGL with 84 kids from last Thursday - Monday - didn't call as I thought you were visiting Sally. What a shame - 84 kids +11 staff to test drive your flapjacks would have been a great idea and would have done wonders for your export trade should you consider it. We all had a fab time - weather/food/company great. We'll keep looking at the blog to see how you are doing

  8. I'm here with Ben whilst Simon and Tom are in England. Sally had mentioned you were at PGL but I must admit I clean forgot about it (oops). Give me a bit of warning next year and I'll batch cook a few extra flapjacks!!
