Bonne Skiing

Spring is on its way. I have been out walking the dogs and the wild flowers are now coming out. Wild primroses, cow slips and celendines. The difference after being away for 10 days skiing is amazing. The weather has been very mild here so everything is ahead although there is a possibillity of some colder weather over the next couple of weeks. In fact it has been snowing and sleeting here today. But it is great to see that spring is on its way.

We have been to Chatel in the French Alps for a few days skiing. The snow conditions were not the best, at the beginning of the week it was very hot (melting the snow) and by the end of the week it was wet. We all had an enjoyable week and Tom's skiing improved, he is now doing basic parellel turns. Ben, who we thought would never ski, suddenly clicked and was coming down easy runs with snow plough turns. To get him to turn he followed my tracks and we played trains. I must admit I got some funny looks as I toot-tooted my way down the piste. Rosie's skiing also improved and she gained more confidence, now going down steep red runs.

Now its back to work on the gites and grounds but it was nice to have a break. Over the next couple of weeks we are preparing for the hedgelaying course, doing some more double glazing and hopefully towards the end of March erect the poly tunnel.
