My Sunday Photo - Feb 7th 2016
I mentioned a few weeks ago that I wanted to improve my camera skills and the lovely Lisa at Lisa's Life recommended an online camera course with Emma Davies. I signed up and I'm loving it. We get an email a week with a topic to concentrate on and already I understand some of those many buttons and knobs on my camera.
I know how to change the aperture to change the depth of field so whilst your rather boring pumpkin is always in focus the background may not be ...
And I know how to alter the shutter speed to photograph fast moving objects like the water in this stream:
It's probably not too late for you to sign up if you want to learn how to use better your camera. Click on A Year with my Camera if you are interested.
Playing around with a camera is so much fun and can create such differents photos/atmospheres.
ReplyDeleteCool photos. :)
Thank you - the pumpkin was not the most inspiring of photos but it clearly shows what you can do when you know how to twiddle the buttons on the camera!
DeleteGood work on the shutter speed on the water. I've heard good things about this course.
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking up
At a faster shutter speed the water was even more detailed but the photo was very dark, so I think I would have needed to change the ISO as well. Yes, the course is really good and I have already learnt lots.
DeleteWell done! These all look really great. I am enjoying following the advanced section as I did a lot of this on another course last year - it really is very good. #MySundayPhoto
ReplyDeleteDefinitely still a beginner here but learning so much. I must get on and do my ISO homework today!
DeleteIt's great that you're getting to grips with your camera really well and you've got some great photos.
ReplyDeleteThey weren't the most interesting of topics but I was glad with the differences they showed.
DeleteOh that's fabulous Rosie. Well done :)
ReplyDeleteI inherited my husband's previous camera but have never used it - just take my phone out with me all the time and snap on that. Looks like I should be thinking about it differently ...
It is great to see what you can get he camera to do once you come off auto mode!
DeleteOh my what a difference, the stream picture is fabulous! Thank you for the tip off, I have just been over and signed up. I collected my first 'proper' camera this morning xx
ReplyDeleteExcellent - enjoy the course.
DeleteLovely pics!
ReplyDeleteI have signed up to the course but haven't been following it properly! Must starting reading the tips properly!
Haha - I have yet to do this weeks assignment so I must rectify that soon.
Deletefabulous photos rosie. i am afraid i'm just a point and click gal myself:)
ReplyDeleteI am still that for a lot of photos but it is great fun learning how much more I can do with a bit of button twiddling!
DeleteGreat stuff with shutter speed and depth of field, I really must learn more about those.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds such an invaluable course, especially if they break it down into bite sized pieces of info (which I imagine it does)...going to sign up for it now. Thanks for sharing,
