This is my blog, A Green and Rosie Life, which is all about helping you live life that bit greener without having to build an off-grid log cabin in the woods or knit your own nettle fibre undies! It's about helping you make simple changes that together will make a big difference to our beautiful world and make it a better place for our children.

Fruitful times
It's started.
The fruit harvest.
We've been cutting rhubarb for weeks now and today the boys and I picked 4 big bowls of strawberries.
Strawberries don't crop for too long but I doubt we'll be short of fruit over the coming weeks and months:
There will be summer raspberries
.. and blueberries
... and tayberries
... and redcurrants
... and gooseberries
And loganberries, worcesterberries, black and whitecurrants, blackberries and jostaberries.
Looks like I will be busy picking and preserving fruit for quite a while. So if you are visiting Eco-Gites of Lenault any time soon and have ordered first night supper, you may well be getting some of this fruit on your pud!
Do you grow any fruit? Perhaps there are some gardeners over on Annie's How Does Your Garden Grow blog linky - why not pop over and have a look.
yum!!! and that pie looks heavenly. actually just yesterday Lily picked two strawberries off her little patch ;)
ReplyDeleteI hope they were tasty - mine are being turned into jam.
DeleteYAY! I remember how good that pud is! In some sort of spooky coincidence I have just opened the little jar of tayberry jam that I pilfered from the welcome box and had some on bread!
ReplyDeleteStrawberries galore here too Rosie, I am having to outwit the birds to get to them first though ;)
Thank you for joining in again m'dear - enjoy those berries x
I will enjoy them but I will be glad when they are all picked and processed. At least I get to top and tail in front of the tennis :)
DeleteSummer fruit season! Happy days! I have some of those same fruits and can't wait. That pavlova looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteThank you - guests to seem to like my pavlovas :)
DeleteWe've had just a few strawberries appear but no more fruit expected as far as I know in my new garden except for blackberries in our hedges later on. All those fruits look divine and fruit puds are the best!
ReplyDeleteWill you be planting fruit bushes?
DeleteOh wow, your garden is delicious!
ReplyDeleteWe've had a few strawberries which I'm ridiculously excited about, wish we were growing more!
Have you room to plant anything else?
DeleteOh, how fabulous! We will hopefully get a good crop of blackberries again, and maybe some grapes :) #HDYGG
ReplyDeleteOur grape vine got some sort of fungal attack last year but he re-shooting again now, but probably too late for any fruit this year.
DeleteOoooh, lots of lovely fruit. And that pavlova! OGH! We've been picking strawberries from our patch for about a week now and have had enough for a three bowls of fruit each. Can't beat homegrown. Lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Gemma - can't beat the taste of fresh fruit.
DeleteOh wow! I absolutely love pavlova, what lucky guests!
ReplyDeleteI think it is my favourite too!
DeleteWhat a bounty! I've got stacks of strawberries this year but not enough sunshine to ripen them. *shakes fist upwards to the sky*
ReplyDeleteCome on sun- you have works to do!!
DeleteOh wow, look at all that lovely fruit! Your plants are a lot more advanced than mine in the north of England.
ReplyDeleteAh, the difference being further south makes.
DeleteI've never heard of worcesterberries or Jostaberries. If we were still living in the UK I guarantee we'd have booked a first night supper by now
ReplyDeleteBoth are somewhere between a gooseberry and a blackcurrant in looks and taste. A Jostaberry is a hybrid and worcesterberry is a plant species on it's own right.
