No, not a Rock Rose (cistus), Phoebe but a Japanese Rose and more hardy. That said I have grown cistus in UK and it survived for several years and then we had a really cold winter and I lost it.
Three such strong colours, nature is amazing.

ReplyDeleteIt's a Japanese Rose, Stella and really scented too. The scent wafts across to the gite garden.

ReplyDeletehis looks very like a "messugo" but I guess it's actually a rose. I don't think the types of cistus that are called "messugo" grow up north.
