This is my blog, A Green and Rosie Life, which is all about helping you live life that bit greener without having to build an off-grid log cabin in the woods or knit your own nettle fibre undies! It's about helping you make simple changes that together will make a big difference to our beautiful world and make it a better place for our children.
Simon did get 3 numbers on the lottery when he was in the UK recently but never anything on a French supermarket scratch card ... so Bum indeed is right!
I think the word is meant to say Boum, as in the beat of your heart when you see the one you love (it was Valentine's promotion) - but the fact that to any English speaker it said Bum may not have been what the shop had in mind!
Haha funny, I'm not sure the French would get the irony of it saying "bum... you haven't won" ;) Lovely blog, I lived in France for a year (Nantes), it's a great place to be, it sounds like you're having a great adventure.xx
Thank you and you are right - the irony will have been lost on the French but I am sure it brought a smile to many an English speaking customer! I've never been to Nantes and would love to go - especially to see the magnificent Mechanical Elephant there.
It's a non-winning scratch card from a local supermarket - what made us snigger was the use of the heart in the word Boum meant it looked fr more like Bum - you've not won! You are right though - it is a nice design otherwise.
vous n'avez pas gagne, me either! :)

DeleteDon't get the significance of bum, Baum? But no winning tickets here either!
