Animal Tales - 53

Welcome to Animal Tales, the blog linky that brings together all sorts of animal blog posts from all over the world.  It runs from Tuesday morning thought to Thursday night and showcases a wide range of animal related posts.  Please note I am now happy to allow sponsored posts, reviews and give-aways.

Snow

We have had a couple of days of snow this last week.  Nothing too deep, thank goodness (I am not a lover of snow!) but enough to see some nice footprints when I went walking with Saari.

Saari's snow prints

Fox snow prints

Bird snow prints

I don't know what bird left the prints above - they were quite big, maybe 2-3cm long.  Any ideas?

Favourite Animal Tales

Thank you to everyone who linked up with Animal Tales last week.  The post that really stood out for me from Liz Burton at Me and My Shadow where she covered both the loss of her Labrador and the arrival of her new puppy.  It had me blubbing into my keyboard.  Thank you also Liz for mentioning my Dogs for Fitness post and AnimalTales on your BritMum's Pets Round Up.  It was much appreciated.

Over to you now.  Please add your posts below. The posts can be old or new and as varied as the animals who we share our world with. If you tweet with the hashtag #AnimalTales I'll retweet you. Just give me a nudge if I appear to have forgotten you.

Full details of the linky can be found here but can I remind people of a couple of the "rules":
  • Please can you comment on at least 2 other blogs linked up - that is, after all the whole purpose of joining a linky to find and comment on more blogs and hopefully drive traffic back to your blog.
  • Please can you include my badge (preferably) or a link back to this blog.
  • Pinterest - not a rule but for even greater exposure of your blog post please do join the Animal Tales Pinterest board and pin a picture from your linked posts.
  • Finally if you want to add a sponsored post, review or give-away, please do.

  1. I love the footprints! We don't get snow so it's just lovely to see what is probably a pretty standard experience for most people. They do look different to prints in sand. Do you get crows or magpies? If it were I'd say it was a peewee.

    1. After a bit more research, I found on this page and think they might be from nothing more interesting than a pigeon! https://ypte.org.uk/factsheets/wildlife-id/footprints-birds#section

    1. We only had a bit and it's gone now, although thankfully NOT to be replaced by rain. Really hoping your rain stops soon. Your poor piggies :(

  4. The snow has passed us by so far in South Devon. Even though it would make it a bit difficult to get about is still love to have some as my girls haven't seen much of it. I have a backlog of snow play ideas to get out and use :)

  7. Brilliant footprints in the snow.
I had the exact same prints in my garden this week and believe they were from Crows. We have lots of birds visit my various bird feeders, but I particularly noticed two crows came for breakfast. Maybe your footprints are crows too. I also have a photo.
Thank you for letting me link up... it's my first visit.
    Have a great week
