    1. Yes, it's a Stinkhorn that lives up to it's name. You smell them before you see them and flies are attracted to them and then spread the spores on their feet.

  3. Very phallalogical! (I learnt that word when I visited the Phallalogical Museum in Reykjavik!) Sorry if I'm lowering the tone here, but really, it is what I first thought of.

    1. Only lowering yourself down to where I am ... that was my first thought too! I think I need to go to Reykjavik!

  4. That's interesting, but I can't say I actually like it very much! Nobody likes flies, do they?

    1. No - not particularly nice but unusual and luckily not close to the house as they really smell!

  7. Awesome - especially as you can identify it too! Really do need to dig out my field guide for when we go foraging! Thanks for sharing on #FungiFriday!

    1. Luckily is it really easy to identify not least by it's smell ... so no chance of mistaking it for anything else. A few others I can also identify but on the whole I just look and admire fungi. Love them!

    1. You can smell it from a couple of metres away and certainly before you see it. It is a very distinctive.
