And the Mystery Plant is ...

Posted by Rosie

Anyone who read my "How Does your Garden Grow" post last week will know that I showed a photo of a plant I was growing for the first time in the polytuynnel.  I asked people if they knew what it was.

This plant:

Suggestions included Fig and Lemon but both are wrong.  Only one person did guess although some cheating was involved as they looked at the image name where I had written what it was.  Clever Mammasaurus!

I can now reveal to everyone that the mystery plant is a peanut.  I have never grown one before the label is rather lacking in information so this could be interesting.  I do know that the nuts actually grow underground on the roots but how big it is going to get I don't yet know.  I will let you know how I get on.

As for any other garden updates I am afraid you will have to wait to next week. I have scheduled this post as I will be on holiday in the UK with limited internet access.  Hopefully I will get to visit a few gardens when I am away though.   Happy gardening everyone!
